Attorney Thomas Mote has been practicing law for over 20 years. Mr. Mote fluently speaks Spanish and grew up in Miami having attended Christopher Columbus High School.

In his youth, Mr. Mote avidly practiced and competed in Judo and Ju-Jitsu and advanced to the rank of Shodan Black-Belt. He then studied at the Florida State University where he graduated, Magna Cum Laude (with Honors), earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication and later a Juris Doctorate in law also from Florida State University.

In law school, Mr. Mote was well liked by his peers and was elected to serve as a class representative for the Student Bar Association.

Attorney Thomas Mote began his legal career as a law clerk for the late, Judge Manny Crespo, Circuit Court Judge for Miami-Dade County. Later he worked as a certified legal intern for the Office of the State Attorney for Miami-Dade County.

He then became a Special Assistant Public Defender for Miami-Dade County and practiced for four years as an Assistant Public Defender for Orange and Osceola counties, where he was recognized for his talents in trying cases before a jury, as well as his commitment and hard work for his clients, in being awarded the 2003 “Advocate of the Year” by the Office of the Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. 

Attorney Thomas Mote is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar since 2002 and the Federal Bar for the United States Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. Mr. Mote is also licensed to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Court, the state and federal courts of Florida, the state and federal courts of New York, the state and federal courts of California, the state and federal courts of Texas, and the United States District Court for Puerto Rico.
